Google Docs is a suite of online tools that allow you to collaboratively create and edit textual documents, spreadsheets and presentations.  You can also upload Microsoft Office documents into Google Docs when you want to share them with others

an online application that allows people to express their thoughts on a common topic easily through the use of online stickies

You can edit your google documents, presentations and spreadsheets when you don't have Internet connection

Open office software similar to Microsoft Office

 

Skype 

Skype allows you to call from computer to computer for free.  Paid packages are available that allow you to call LAN lines as well.  You can use this for conference calls as well as video calling

Yugma 

Yugma is a desktop viewing program. The host can start a session and invite others to view what they are doing on their desktop.  The host can also give control to another person and allow them to demonstrate what is on their desktop
